Review of You Belong with Me by Beth Moran.

Happy bank holiday weekend! There’s something so special about having a little extra time to unwind—especially with a good book.

If you’re searching for your next feel-good read, this could be the book for you…

You Belong With Me: A BRAND NEW heartwarming romance from Beth Moran for 2026

About the book:

A woman who stopped believing in romance. An Island worth fighting for. And a love she never saw coming. Three times a fiancée but never a bride is not a claim to fame Bluebell Beddoes is proud of. But she is taking it as a sign…

Sworn off romance, instead, the love of Blue’s life is the beautiful Isle of Siskin. Her home from birth, her community and now her job with the wildly successful podcast Only on Siskin. Her life is full, and her future is set.

So, when the peace on Siskin is threatened with being destroyed forever, Blue knows she has to act. There are secrets from the past that may be able to save the future of the island, and only Blue can get to the bottom of them.

When handsome and mysterious Jonathan White arrives on Siskin, Blue is unsure if he’s here to help or hinder. But when it becomes clear Jonathan holds the key to unlocking the past, Blue will have to learn to trust again or risk losing everything she loves…

My review:

I absolutely loved this novel from beginning to end. You Belong with Me creates a warm, immersive escape on the Isle of Siskin. Bluebell Beddoes is an engaging heroine, and her guarded heart and quiet resilience make her journey especially satisfying to follow.

The past storyline, which is compelling and bittersweet, adds emotional depth and a gentle sense of intrigue, enriching the present-day narrative in a way that kept me turning the pages. The male leads are equally well drawn—both flawed yet quietly strong, with a depth of character that makes them feel authentic and easy to root for.

The sense of community is one of the book’s strongest elements. I enjoyed spending time with the island’s inhabitants. The romance, in both timelines, is soft, slow-burning, and heartfelt, developing naturally as the stories progress.

Overall, this is a compelling and comforting read that beautifully balances love, loss, and hope.

These are mostly set in and around Sherwood Forest, where she can be found most mornings walking her spaniel, Murphy. Review of Kate Frost’s A Greek Island Escape.

Today, I am delighted to join the blog tour and share my review of Kate Frost’s latest novel, A Greek Island Escape…

The blurb:

Can a Greek escape be the start of something special?

Xanthe Fox has it all: a famous, drop-dead gorgeous boyfriend, a dream career and bright future – until heartbreak sends her life into a tailspin.

So when Xanthe’s Greek godmother unexpectedly leaves her a villa on the sumptuous island of Kefalonia, Xanthe jumps at the chance to put her life in London on hold and escape to the island hideaway to rethink her future.

The break allows Xanthe the time to explore her passions, sift through her feelings and discover more about her estranged Greek family while renovating her godmother’s enchanting Villa Aster.

But not everyone is happy to see her. Unfazed by her hostile neighbours and after making a mortifying mistake with a sexy builder, Xanthe is equally charmed by Kefalonia and a handsome, brooding gardener.

Chasing dreams, taking chances and saying ‘yes’ has the potential to turn Xanthe’s life upside down, but will a summer escape allow her to sparkle once more?

My review:

Kate Frost’s vivid descriptions whisk you away to the stunning Greek island of Kefalonia, providing the perfect backdrop for her engaging story. Xanthe, the lead character, is refreshing, and her journey unfolds with a mix of realism, charm and adventure. The supporting characters are great and bring the story to life; I was happy to spend time in their company. This book offers pure escapism and an inviting atmosphere that makes you want to stay a while. The developing romance is sweet, and the plot keeps you interested. It’s a satisfying read that ties up neatly, leaving no loose ends. After finishing, you’ll likely find yourself daydreaming about a trip to Greece. Overall, it is a delightful read full of sunshine and warmth.

Review of Freya Kennedy’s The Hopes and Dreams of Libby Quinn.

The Blurb:

Libby Quinn is sick and tired of being sensible.

After years of slogging her guts out for nothing at a PR company, she finds herself redundant and about to plough every last penny of her savings into refurbishing a ramshackle shop and making her dream of owning her own bookshop become a reality.

She hopes opening ‘Once Upon A Book’ on Ivy Lane will be the perfect tribute to her beloved grandfather who instilled a love of reading and books in her from an early age.

When her love life and friendships become even more complicated – will Libby have the courage to follow her dreams? Or has she bitten off more than she can chew?

My review:

There’s lots to like about this lovely story. It was an uplifting, enjoyable read. The depth of Libby’s feelings for her grandad Ernie is evident in the affection with which she recalls her memories of him and her desire to realise his dreams. The characters were all likeable, and the community setting made it a cuddle of a book. The male lead, Noah, is well portrayed and I could feel the growing affection between him and Libby. I frequently smiled as I read, and even shed a tear. Overall, it’s a fab read.

About the author:

Freya Kennedy is the pen name of Derry based author Claire Allan – who is perhaps best known for her psychological thrillers!

However, before turning a life of crime, Claire wrote women’s fiction for Irish publisher Poolbeg Press, her reinvention as Freya Kennedy will see her bring some love, laughter and heart-warming happiness to readers.

A true Derry girl, Freya Kennedy has lived all her life in the north of Ireland. She worked for 18 years as a journalist and has been writing full time since 2016.
She is a huge fan of all kinds of books, from Marian Keyes (she cried the first time she met Marian), to Rowan Coleman, to Jane Fallon, to Jojo Moyes.
She also enjoys a good murder!

She continues to live in Derry with her husband, her two children, two cats and the best dog in the world.
